PRBLEM Attachment Rescue is a safety-first attachment health and recovery toolkit for XenForo 2.3+.

It scans attachment data and relations, detects missing originals, missing thumbnails, storage problems and broken relations, and clearly separates issues that are safe to repair from conditions that require review or must remain blocked.

Safe repairs are revalidated immediately before execution and verified again after completion. Missing original files are never fabricated, existing thumbnails are never blindly overwritten, and temporary storage failures are never treated as proof that an attachment is missing.

Attachment Rescue includes resumable Full Scan, Recovery Center, verified thumbnail rebuilding, Live Recovery Drill with private snapshot and rollback protection, Recovery Test Lab, repair outcome tracking, privacy-minimized support reports and safe history maintenance.

What this tool never does

• Never fabricates a missing original attachment.
• Never treats a temporary storage outage as proof that a file is missing.
• Never blindly deletes xf_attachment or xf_attachment_data records.
• Never performs broad destructive attachment database cleanup.
• Never overwrites an existing thumbnail during normal repair.
• Never repairs REVIEW or BLOCKED findings automatically.
• Never modifies the original attachment during Live Recovery Drill.
• Never removes the private drill snapshot until recovery has been verified or explicitly rolled back.
• Never exposes attachment contents, filenames, identities, storage paths, credentials or raw traces in Support Reports.

Installation

1. Download the PRBLEM Attachment Rescue release ZIP.
2. In XenForo Admin CP open Add-ons.
3. Choose Install/upgrade from archive.
4. Upload the Attachment Rescue ZIP.
5. Complete the XenForo installation/upgrade process.
6. Open Admin CP → Tools → Attachment Rescue.
7. Enter the PRBLEM license key issued for product code PAR.
8. Click Activate license.
9. Confirm System Readiness shows Ready before running recovery operations.
For upgrades, upload the newer release through XenForo's normal Install/upgrade from archive workflow. Existing scan history, recovery receipts and retention settings are preserved.

License, updates & privacy

Privacy

Attachment Rescue operates primarily against the local XenForo installation and its configured abstracted attachment storage.
License activation and validation communicate with the PRBLEM licensing service.
The privacy-minimized Support Report intentionally excludes attachment contents, attachment filenames, member and administrator identities, site URLs, storage paths, backup paths, snapshot fingerprints, raw exceptions, stack traces, database credentials and configuration secrets.
Attachment Rescue does not send attachment file contents to PRBLEM.

Usage / shortcode

No shortcode is required.After installation and license activation:1. Open Admin CP → Tools → Attachment Rescue.2. Review System Readiness.3. Run a bounded health scan or start a resumable Full Scan.4. Review SAFE, REVIEW and BLOCKED findings.5. Use Recovery Center only for SAFE repair candidates.6. Run Rebuild & verify to regenerate an eligible missing thumbnail.7. Use Live Recovery Drill or Recovery Test Lab to verify the recovery path safely.8. Review Repair Outcome Tracking after repairs.
